On the opposite side of the island to the airport lies the small family resort of Agios Gordis - and if you're looking for the opportunity to get away from the hustle and bustle of the larger package resorts then this is the place to head for. Indeed Agios Gordis bay boasts what is possibly the finest beach in all Corfu with its mile-long golden sands and crystal clear waters.
Agios Gordis attracts a cosmopolitan mix of visitors from different countries and various ages, and is very much a family orientated resort, it is quite small and there are no discos or loud music bars to disturb the equilibrium. This doesn't mean however that Agios Gordis offers little in the way of entertainment - far from it.
There is a good choice of traditional tavernas and some excellent restaurants that will keep you amply fed and watered throughout your stay.
