Despite being at the island's southernmost point, over an hour from town by local bus, Kavos is one of Corfu's liveliest resorts, with a long stretch of golden sand backed by tavernas, bars and holiday accommodation. Here you'll find all the usual watersports, and if you fancy a change of scenery, you can see some more of the island on a boat-trip barbecue. Kavos is always popular with the young and lively crowd, who enjoy the beachlife by day, and the high-energy nightlife in the resort's countless bars and half a dozen discos. You certainly don't come here expecting a quiet holiday!
As you travel south along Corfu’s long tapering tail, the scene becomes more rural. Olive groves blanket the low, rolling hills which are dotted with small villages. Then you are funnelled into the long main street of Lefkimmi a very busy town, with narrow streets and magnificent old town houses. Kavos ends with a narrow one-way bridge that crosses the canalised Lefkimmi river, where large fishing boats moor at the quayside. Then out into the countryside again and at the end of the agricultural wilderness, 7 km from Lefkimmi you will find Kavos, a young persons dream holiday centre.
Fun is the name of the game and the hustle and bustle of the modern disco’s, bars and restaurants, gives the resort its unique buzz. After a hard night on the town, you can relax on the golden stretch of sandy beach which extends much further than the resort itself, so you can always find a relatively quiet spot.
Kavos beach is an impressive five miles long with good quality sand and safe shallow warm water popular with children and bathers. The beach is the other great attraction of Kavos and you will find the usual water sports, beach facilities and beach life. Cape Aspro Kavos with its headland and tree-covered hills is a pleasant walk south with great views and the ruins of a monastery.

Kavos has regular bus connections with fascinating Corfu town, bus tours of the island, and the chance to experience a complete contrast with boat trips to Corfu town, Parga, Blue Lagoon and the picturesque islands of Paxos and tiny Antipaxos.
